Moving 3 times in 5 years (and 2 of those times being back to back years) is NOT recommended. But alas, I did it. The only plants I lost along the way were the ones I re-homed and there's definitely more room for me to downsize. There's nothing like putting all of your plants out in the open to make you see how much has accumulated ☠️.
The funny thing is, I still have plants on my wishlist, but my goal is to re-home an existing plant if I want to get a new one.
Who else has experienced the joy and struggle of moving while owni...

I’ve never had an issue with my Ficus Audrey and I’ve had her for years!!
Chlorine and chloramine isn't the issue. Minerals from the water build up over time in the planting medium, which will eventually kill the plant.
Mh-en are so miserable. 😂
Love it! Where did you get your Monstera rug!! It is so adorable 😍
you should plant it outside!
so cuteee
Plants aren’t humans lol 🤣🤦🏿♀️, mind your business, (I am dead) 😂😂😂
You can get a nepenthes to deal with the larger flies. Some of them don't require super specific conditions to thrive and they will catch large flies.
I thought you were gonna place the potato on the table! But those also work! Also I need to know what that succulent is because my fuzzy lil cactus is taking forever to grow (propigation because they always seem to fall apart idk why)
Plants with Krystal did a double door version a couple months before this was posted, if anyone is looking for more space.
I need that root crack, wait maybe not😅😅😅😅😂😂😂
Come on, admit it. You forgot about the desk on purpose to get back to buy more pots 😉
How much did it cost after all the extra materials?
Subscribe please 🥺🙌
I love RUclipsrs who gives more info about the products and techniques 👍🏽👍🏽
whats the measurement for neem and castile soap for insectide pls
I just got done putting mine together and weather stripping it! I also used your Amazon link to buy the supplies! Thank you so much for putting together an easy tutorial and for linking everything!💗 I’ll eventually get the acrylic stuff to go with, but for now, what I have set up will work😸🪴
What is your favorite plant 🌱
My Carmel marble 🙌
Oooo good choice 👍
Mine is red fittonia
Do you have an onlyfans
That’s awesome!! Good idea!!😃
Thanks! 😊
In general, ficus don’t like change and hate life frequently. For example: ficus lyrata. I have a benjamina that drops leaves when the seasons change, if I move it, or if I give it the side eye.😒
And we did move 😂
Why are you giving root crack to an aggressive root plant? All ficus have very aggressive roots. Never plant it near anything built by humans. It will revenge Mother Nature 😂
It’s a fertilizer and since I did shock the roots I wanted it to give it a boost 🔥🧨
I just happened to notice that I hadn’t seen this vid and thought I’d comment, even though I’m half a year late…I learned to be very careful when un-potting nursery plants when my husband ended up with a staph infection from one. We used to own a landscaping company and he and I were finishing up some of the last bits of planting at a doctor’s office in our area when he went to loosen up the roots on a plant and got cut across his palm by a random piece of barbed wire that was tangled up in the root system. We’ve come across lots of plastic bits and colored string, and even aluminum can tabs here and there, but the barbed wire was the worst! Also - I love the “extra”! Keep being hilarious and awesome!😊
BARBED WIRE? That is definitely new! My goodness. You really don’t know what’s under the surface 👀
😂🤣🤣 this just took me out. Why that was the exact same plant I bought after telling myself I’d already had too many.
LOL
I’m sorry but without the goat sound at the end this video felt incomplete. 😆🐐
You’re right haha
Just so you know, your dyson vacuum isn't really cleaning your floors.
Yea I went in and vacuumed the dirt with my mouth
what percentage of your plants are in self watering pots? how do you determine which plants you want to use a self watering pot vs traditional??
Most of my collection are Alocasias and most of them are in self watering setups. Certain type of plants appreciate more consistent moisture than others (Alocasia and calatheas)
🤣
Collect rain water i throw a bucket outside when collecting then put it in my bottles i have to fill up
When we get rain once a year I do that! 😂
Love that! ❤ To use the one you show here, Fluval Stratum, and similar products: what would you say is the important ingredient that these types of substrates has? What is in Fluval or the one you use, that is working so well? So I know what to look for if they don't have these exact types. (hope you understand what I mean 🫣) ❤
"How do these plant grow in a windowless room..." they don't :( I was thinking having good artificial light and some light from a balcony door will be enough for plants that require low light. They last for a long time but it is just survival. They either don't grow new leaves, or the new leaves are small and stunted. They struggle and constantly have problems with root rot even if underwatered. At the end they just die. I gave one of these struggling plants to my mother that just put it close to the window and the poor thing gone wild.
My friend’s pothos was in a dark corner and literally did not grow 😂
Nothing truer has ever been spoken, SERIOUSLY
😂
Lolll
Relatable. I travel a lot and my plants suffer in my absence. I go through this for hours when i return. Despite the tedious and ardous labour, it's a labour of love. I love my greenies. They make me happy.
Maybe look into transferring them into a hydro culture substrate. It's quite the chore, if you have a lot of especially bigger plants, admittedly...and there is the cost factor of the substrate and special pots...but once you're done and the plants have 'settled in' caring for them is a breeze. And they can take a week or ten days of absence, no problem. And no more worries about pests, as these can't thrive in the non organic substrate.
That root trim reminded me of "trimming" my hair last year after taking an ambien. Your ficus faired a lot better than my hair trim.
lol oh no 😂
Hates it homes but doesn't want not leave
lol exactly right
Ooh yes, soil with root Crack! 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿 What a beautiful tree! Thriving really !
Thank you!!!!!
Ummm…ditto…🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
😭
Yah it’s not like plant gives us OXYGEN or anything
hydrophobic?
It means it repels water
Haha 😂 So funny!
🤓
I am sincerely puzzled. The plant was unhappy because the roots were unhappy. So you cut the roots off...won't that continue the unhappiness. I freely admit logic is not my strength. I'll just think about the slide of joy and not tax my feeble brain.
Trimming roots is fine. It can even stimulate new growth in the rest of the plant. Loads of videos about it.
Haha the plant was unhappy because it was rootbound. By trimming the roots, it’s giving the roots more space in the existing pot to continue growing. It’s a thing!
Aint no way this works, but I take my monsteras roots that are above soil and put them into jars of water, they put their energy (I'm literally just guessing) into making those roots the size and shape of said jar, and then i do it again. I mean technically my monstera is alive but some people hate how the roots look out of soil and I'm no expert, I just know they're "swamp plants" and that's just word of mouth 😂
Root trimming works! 💪
A lot of plants can develop 'water roots' as well as 'soil roots'. Those are different types, as 'soil roots' will rot in too wet of an environment. But yes, the plant will put its energy into growing towards the water source. So your theory actually makes sense. As far as I can tell, anyways. But maybe add a bit of hydroculture fertilizer to the water every now and then, so the plant still gets the nutrients it needs.
Soon I will have to trim the root ball on the Thai constellation. They outgrow the pot so fast 😅
Monstera roots are just nuts!
SAME I’m done with all Ficus 🪴
lol this one in particular really hates being crowded in the pot
@@ohtheplacesyoullgrow they hate living comfortably lol
2 years ago 😮 where does the time go
RIGHT?! Like that was two houses ago ☠️
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
They become rootbound so fricking fast in terms of some plants! 😆
Like my pothos is determined to have a new home every other month 😩
@ohtheplacesyoullgrow Not mine for some reason 😆
🤣🤣🤣🤣 At least you got to the root of things..badumbump🥹❣️
lol 🥁
😂
My largest monstera is crying for a repot; maybe after this heatwave, sweet comrade. 💚🪴💚
Mine tooooooo
@@ohtheplacesyoullgrow I think you have more than one that's root bound lol
